Comprehensive and Safe Motorcycle Lessons

If you don't know how to ride a motorcycle or you just need to brush up on your skills, come to the motorcycle training school run by KMS. Derby City Motorcycle Rider's Training School in Louisville, Kentucky, provides an in-depth safety and skills course for riders of all skill levels. Get your motorcycle riding lessons from experienced and friendly instructors in a safe environment.


Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Course

The Basic Rider Course (BRC) is recommended for all experience levels. Classroom and on-cycle experiences introduce basic motorcycle operations and help develop safe street-riding strategies. All exercises are conducted on a closed-course riding range to provide the highest level of safety and comfort possible. Training motorcycles are provided by us and are typically between 125 and 150 CCs.

Class participants

Class participants must be at least 16 years of age to enroll and have written parental consent if under 18. Proper protective riding gear is required, which includes:

• DOT Approved 3/4 or Full Faced Helmet–Loan Helmets Are Available
• Long Pants with No Holes, Rips, or Tears
• Sturdy Over-the-Ankle Footwear
• Jacket or Long-Sleeved Shirt
• Full-Fingered Gloves
• Protective Eyewear

Course Schedule

Our motorcycle riding lessons take place on the weekend for your convenience. All courses start promptly at the designated time, and there is no grace period. Please allow ample driving time to ensure your prompt arrival. NO REFUNDS OR RESCHEDULES ARE AVAILABLE. Classes take place on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Call for other information and to sign up. Motorcycles in the Garage

Successful Completion of the BRC

Students who pass the BRC will be issued a waiver card that will allow waiver of the state road skill test and will receive their motorcycle endorsement and license upon presenting the appropriate course completion card to the license bureau. Indiana does honor Kentucky Waiver Cards.
